About Alder & Stone
Founded on the belief that renovation should be personal.
Alder & Stone was founded in Denver in 2011 by Marcus Alderton and Celeste Wren, a contractor-designer partnership who were frustrated by renovation studios that treated homes as projects rather than people's lives.
Their philosophy: spend more time listening at the start, and the design almost writes itself. Fourteen years and over 340 projects later, that approach hasn't changed.
We remain a Denver-only studio by choice. We work with a limited number of clients per year so that every project receives the full attention of our principals.
Our Team
Principal — Construction & Project Management
Marcus Alderton
Licensed general contractor with 20 years of Denver residential experience. Marcus leads every build phase personally.
Principal — Design & Client Relations
Celeste Wren
Interior architect with a background in residential and hospitality design. Celeste leads design from concept through material selection.
Senior Project Manager
James Okafor
James coordinates every active project — client communication, subcontractor scheduling, and on-site quality control.

We specify materials we would use in our own homes. Nothing is specified because it is cheap — only because it is right.
